LOCATION: Secluded but central location – Lancaster County is part of the greater Charlotte Metropolitan Area. The state capitol of Columbia is 60 miles due south. Drive time is less than 3 hours to the Atlantic shores of Myrtle Beach and about the same to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
SHOP & DINE: Visit Ballantyne Village for upscale shopping and fine dining. Neighboring Waxhaw is ideal for antique hunting and boutique browsing. Charlotte, of course, is teeming with night clubs and live music. Lancaster is home to the Benford Brewing Company, an all-natural, craft brewery.
ACTIVITIES: We have the best golf courses anywhere as well as plenty of rivers and lakes for boating and water sports. Nearby is Carowinds amusement park and Carolina Harbor water park. Charlotte has museums, art galleries, performing arts venues, the NFL's Carolina Panthers and, NASCAR.
DEMOGRAPHICS: Lancaster county has about 89,000 residents and recent job growth is up by 4 percent. Ranks 2nd in "America's Manliest Cities" survey (Charlotte metro). USC Lancaster has an enrollment of nearly 2,000 students. Andrew Jackson State Park draws thousands of visitors annually.
